Woodbridge is a town encompassing around 10 square miles in the eastern portion of Prince William County, Virginia. Part of its borders are made up of the Potomac and Occoquan rivers, giving residents access to breathtaking riverbanks with panoramic views of meadows, marshes, and forests.

Woodbridge was originally a rural area, consisting mostly of farms and industrial complexes. After the 1970s, its postal delivery area included two prominent communities, Dale City and Lake Ridge. The town was named after the wooden toll bridge built by Thomas Mason in 1795, which was used to carry traffic from the 1,300-mile King’s Highway over the Occoquan River.
